A Rum-Bar Daiquiri Competition

RUM-BAR aims to challenge bartenders from around the San Francisco and surrounding Bay Area to utilize and highlight their favorite Rum-Bar expression, exhibit their style and personality through a daiquiri cocktail creation, and compete with the city's best bartenders to win a cash prize and rare Worthy Park rum bottle.

About Rum-Bar

From cane field to bottle, Rum-Bar rums are made at the historic Worthy Park Estate, located in St. Catherine Parish, Jamaica. Sitting 1,200 feet above sea level, the estate encompasses more than 9,000 acres of land. 100% of the sugar cane used to create the molasses, is grown either on the Estate or on one of three nearby properties leased for cane cultivation by Worthy Park. Thus, the aromas and flavors in our rums truly reflect the growing conditions and production processes at Worthy Park Estate. Rum-Bar is one of the most popular rum brands on the island of Jamaica.

Submission Period

The submission period will be open from August 13th - August 23rd 2019

The Competition

8 finalists will be chosen to compete on Wednesday, September 4th 2019, at The Snug San Francisco from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Participant Requirements

The competition is open only to professional bartenders or managers aged 21-years old or over, currently residing and working at a bar in San Francisco and surrounding Bay Area. Participants must be available on Wednesday, September 4th 2019 from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Cocktail Recipe Specifications

Must include 1 oz minimum of Rum-Bar Silver, Rum-Bar Gold, or Rum-Bar White Overproof

Maximum of 5 ingredients


  • The use of any liqueurs, standard modifiers, syrups, bitters, and juices
  • The use of any other spirits, brand or type must be clearly stated
  • Glassware - the choice is yours
  • Syrups or liquors, abstract modifiers, and foams are permitted. However, the full recipe and method of preparation must be clearly specified. *Note we cannot guarantee the execution of difficult to find or seasonal ingredients

Not Permitted

  • Homemade bitters
  • Homemade ingredients
  • Elements affecting the taste and/or aromas of the cocktail such as edible garnish sprays; bitters are considered as an ingredient.

Social Media Campaign

The social media campaign isn't compulsory to enter the competition but will account for a percentage of the score in the preliminary round. Please post:

  1. A photo of your cocktail
  2. The cocktail's name
  3. The Rum-Bar flavor used
  4. The hashtag #DaiqInTheBay
  5. And a tag of Rum-Bar's Social Media account
