Welcome to the official page of the
Giffard West Cup 2019
U.S. Cocktail Competition

Every two years, Giffard Liqueurs searches the globe for the next West Cup champion. We are excited to announce that both rounds of the the U.S. preliminary competition to select the global finalists for the 2019 Giffard West Cup will be hosted and judged by the Death & Co bar team.

Death & Co Logo

Opened on New Year's Eve 2006/07 in Manhattan's East Village, Death & Co quickly became a cocktail institution, owed greatly to its staff of creative bartenders and incredible servers. Since then, it has evolved and changed; from an intimate bar in NYC to a sprawling cocktail lounge and restaurant in Denver -- and, perhaps, more to come. Through this growth, Death & Co has maintained its commitment to fine product and exceptional experiences, a focus on hospitality, and a deep desire to be a center for its communities.

  • Two is better than one: Your cocktail may include more than one Giffard liqueur or syrup.
  • Don't complicate things: No custom ingredients allowed, e.g. syrups, tinctures, or homemade bitters; ingredients must be available commercially.
  • Sometimes one is better than two: Competitors may only submit ONE recipe and, yes, we'll have to disqualify you if you submit two.
  • Be Original: Merci.
  • If it's not listed here: See Giffard Products ... then you can't use it; Giffard ingredients used in cocktail must be available in the U.S. or Puerto Rico.
  • With Giffard, more is always better: Cocktail must use at least 1/2 oz. Giffard Liqueur;
  • Don't skimp on the good stuff: More than one base spirit is allowed.
