Every two years, Giffard Liqueurs searches the globe for the next West Cup champion. We are excited to announce that both rounds of the U.S. preliminary competition to select the global finalists for the 2019 Giffard West Cup will be hosted and judged by the Death & Co bar team.
Opened on New Year's Eve 2006/07 in Manhattan's East Village, Death & Co quickly became a cocktail institution, owed greatly to its staff of creative bartenders and incredible servers. Since then, it has evolved and changed; from an intimate bar in NYC to a sprawling cocktail lounge and restaurant in Denver -- and, perhaps, more to come. Through this growth, Death & Co has maintained its commitment to fine product and exceptional experiences, a focus on hospitality, and a deep desire to be a center for its communities.
Submit your cocktail recipe for a chance to compete in person in Denver, with two winners moving on to represent the U.S. at the Giffard West Cup international cocktail competition in France's Loire Valley.
Deadline for online entries is February 2, 2019 at Midnight Pacific time. Ten winners will be notified on February 11, 2019.
Ten winners from the online submission round will be flown to compete, all costs covered, in the U.S. finals in Denver, to be held on April 1-2, 2019.
Giffard West Cup final: May 28: 1st and 2nd place winners of the U.S. Final in Denver, will win a trip to compete in the West Cup global final in France's Loire Valley, against winning bartenders from fourteen countries.
